SCIENCE SALON HANOVER

95% of Hanover was destroyed in World War II. It was even considered to rebuild the city at another place. Today Hanover is the prototype of a car city. The priorities of the 50s are the problems of today.

Hanover’s citizens now face a massive problem. Green zones are usually flanked by noisy traffic which is today a major annoyance.

In the course of urban densification, new building land is to be generated in these between zones as well.

In one of these intermediate zones it is planned to establish a science center. A place for research, presentation and discourse.

Terrain modification generates the partition of the calm Leine riverbank to the busy road. Various folds allow the flow of movement on the bank next to the street or in between. This operation will at least partially correct the urban planning crimes committed in the 1950s.
